The Lock Workshop is a hybrid design studio and wood workshop, which specialises in the production of furniture, objects and structures using local and European hardwoods.
Design and resource-led, we utilise traditional joinery methods alongside modern-day processes including CNC machining and 3D scanning. Our Kelham Island-based workshop is fully equipped with industrial machinery, allowing us to control the design, production and installation processes. We maintain exceptional quality standards whilst minimising our environmental impact through a considered attitude to materials and an integrated approach to production.
The Founder and Director has a background in Fine Art, having graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design and worked as a curator and dealer in London for a decade before setting up the workshop, which was initially based in the Peak District.
Lock also has a parallel business, which is committed to supplying the climbing industry with renewable alternatives to synthetic composites. More info can be found by following the link below.
